SculpSure Q & A
What is SculpSure?
SculpSure is a method of fat reduction or body contouring that gets rid of fat cells in targeted areas, including the thighs, belly, and flank. SculpSure reduces fat through a light-based, or laser energy, a procedure known as lipolysis. The energy that the laser emits targets fat cells in certain areas by raising their temperatures, causing the targeted cells to die off and eventually exit the body through the lymphatic system over the course of a few months after treatment.
This non-invasive procedure offers a way to permanently and safely eliminate fat without the risks of infection and excess bleeding associated with surgical procedures.
Which patients make suitable candidates for SculpSure?
Patients who’ve been unsuccessful at reducing fat in certain areas, such as the belly or thighs, through exercise and diet, usually make suitable candidates for SculpSure treatments. Dr. Tchabo customizes treatments for each client after taking certain factors into consideration, such as the amount and location of the excess fat.
How many treatments do I need and when will I see results?
Typically, a treatment plan will entail several procedures to permanently remove unwanted fat. Patients usually notice results in about 12 weeks, although results vary from patient to patient. In some cases, patients start seeing results six weeks after a SculpSure treatment.
Dr. Tchabo and his team will provide a comprehensive treatment plan that is tailored to each client and her needs.
Is SculpSure considered safe?
SculpSure is the first FDA-cleared laser treatment for non-invasive lipolysis of the flanks and abdomen. Patients shouldn’t experience any major side effects or complications from this type of treatment, since it doesn’t involve making any incisions or taking any medications. Patients may feel slight discomfort during SculpSure treatments, which usually involves a mild tingling sensation: Those sensations typically occur while the SculpSure device heats the fat cells in the targeted areas. Cooling gels and lotions, as well as ice packs, are usually sufficient in addressing any discomfort. Treatments usually take 25 minutes and most patients can go back to work or their day-to-day activities almost immediately.
